Business cards 'must not be overcrowded'
Keep information to a minimum to avoid overcrowding when designing a business card, one expert has advised.
Companies designing business cards to send off to UK printers need to ensure the items are not crowded with too much information.
That is the advice of desktop publishing expert Jacci Bear, who said in her blog on About.com individuals should make sure they do not treat their business card as a resume.
"Don't overload on marketing slogans and detailed job description," she advised, adding keeping it simple is generally the best approach.
Companies also need to give some thought to the logo used on the card, she stated, noting the "tiny, generic" examples are best avoided.
And finally, Ms Bear urged individuals to "choose [their] company or job title carefully" and steer clear of ones that could be "unprofessional and questionable".
Her advice follows that of a blogger known as Aunty B, who stated in an article for Smart Company usability should be the priority when designing new business cards.
