Consumers 'value products of flyer printers'
A survey has shown the majority of consumers want to continue receiving direct mail.
Direct mail - which includes cheap flyers - remains popular among consumers, the results of a new survey have suggested.
Research conducted by ONEPOST, a provider of independent postal advice and management, found 79 per cent of people wish to continue receiving direct mail.
Luan Wise, marketing manager at the company, said the findings show "consumers really value direct mail and enjoy receiving items that are targeted and relevant to them".
She added in the current economic climate, direct mail is the best way for an organisation to showcase their products to a highly-targeted audience.
Chris Combemale, executive director of the Direct Marketing Association, noted the poll confirms the evergreen appeal of the advertising medium and its ability to have an impact on consumers' decision making processes.
The comments come after David Cole stated in an article for U Talk Marketing that storable direct mail is becoming more popular due to the fact people are increasingly accessing information away from their desks and printers.
