Royal Mail is offering a discount on direct mail, which may be of interest to companies that use leaflet printing.

Companies that use the services of leaflet printers may wish to take advantage of a Royal Mail promotion next year.

The postal firm is offering a 20 per cent discount on any extra direct mail volumes sent during March and April 2011.

It applies to all Mailsort 3 or Sustainable Mail 3 quotas over what organisations would normally send - as well as large letter formats - and will give businesses the opportunity to test different ways of using direct mail, according to Royal Mail.

Marketing Week reports the move is the latest from the service aiming to boost direct mail volumes in a bid to offset declining revenue and follows the introduction of Door Drops Online, a web-based campaign planning tool.

Royal Mail encouraged organisations to use the new offer to "increase contact with lapsed and valued existing customers or tell new customers about some of your exciting promotions".
