Flyer printers to benefit from employing more temporary workers?
Taking on temporary staff is a low-risk strategy for small and medium firms, it has been claimed.
Small and medium businesses - which could include flyer printers - can reap a number of benefits from employing more temporary workers, according to an expert.
Tom Hadley, director of policy and professional services at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said there has been a rise in temping recently and the trend looks likely to accelerate.
While economic uncertainty continues to abound, many employers will be choosing to recruit temporary staff as they are cautious about taking on permanent workers, he explained.
Employing temps is both fast and low-risk for small firms, Mr Hadley explained, as they can get somebody new in if it does not work out and the agency deals with the time-consuming recruitment process.
He added it gives organisations "that vital flexibility".
Mr Hadley was commenting on a new report from the Bank of Scotland showing demand for temporary staff in Scotland increased in December 2010 at its fastest rate since 2007.
