Printed business cards 'need to offer a unique service'
Entrepreneurs need to think about the content of their business cards, it has been suggested.
Bosses of emergent firms may wish to consider more carefully the content of their printed business cards, following comments from one company owner.
Alina Piccone, writing in a piece for Massage Today, stated when she set up her mobile massage firm she distributed as many marketing materials as possible, including cards and brochures.
However, her order book did not begin to fill up until she pinpointed the niche service she could offer her customers.
Ms Piccone realised the unique selling point of her company lay in her passion and knowledge of essential oil therapy and by focusing on that, she acquired a number of new clients and referrals.
She added her advice for other entrepreneurs is to focus on not only how to go about marketing, but to look at what they are promoting too.
Individuals starting their own businesses may also be interested in comments from estate agent Ray Wood, who recently told The Australian that printing his own brochure was key to his company taking off.
