Sustainable printing conference to tackle issue of waste
UK printers will be discussing topics related to waste and sustainability at a conference next month.
The topic of sustainable printing will be heavily debated at a London conference next month.
Industry figures are set to discuss best practice case studies at Vision in Print's Winning the War on Waste event on November 22nd.
Issues to be raised include how to implement effective processes for reducing material waste, making the best use of management information systems (MISs) and managing paper supplies to improve performance and reduce net cost.
Vision in Print suggested firms need to establish key performance indicators and engineer their MISs "so that the shop floor can make effective use of the data to drive up performance".
It also advised companies to ensure their staff are on board with their initiatives, which is key to succeeding with environmental schemes.
Recently, Richard Romano commented on WhatTheyThink's Going Green blog that small firms have an important role to play in eco-friendly printing as well as large organisations.
