lyers 'retain an important marketing role in a digital age'
A new Australian marketing portal is about to be launched to help SMEs distribute flyers and other direct mail.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find it easier to distribute flyers and other direct mail, as Salmat's self-service marketing portal is set to be launched in January 2011.
It will allow business owners to design their own materials and choose their demographic area.
According to ITWire, the company has long argued that flyers continue to fulfil an important marketing role in an online age, noting only 12 per cent of Australian homes have 'no junk mail' stickers on their post boxes.
Furthermore, chief executive officer Grant Harrod told Print21 the letterbox is one of the most valuable ways to reach potential customers.
"We'd like to create demand for the printing industry. Print is one of the most effective forms of communication," he remarked.
Recently, Mark Thompson - media director of Royal Mail - stated in an article for Marketing Week that direct mail is powerful because it brings brands into consumers' homes.
